Study tour to Japan

Japan is well known for its high educational standards. According to the OECD’s PISA survey of 2015, with an average score of 538 points Japanese students rank high in collaborative problem-solving, maths, reading and science among 72 countries of the world. This is a logical consequence of Japan’s focused education policies. As part of these policies, innovative teaching methods are consistently introduced and implemented in education institutions of the country.

Thus, from 5th to 11th February 2017, INTAMT Academy organized a study tour for senior management and teaching staff of Moscow’s leading educational institutions with the focus on Japan’s innovative experience in preschool and school education development.

During their stay the participants had an opportunity of visiting the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Graduate School of Education of Tokyo Gakugei University, the Center for Early Childhood Development, Education, and Policy Research of Tokyo University and the Japanese Teachers Union. As a result of these visits participants acquired detailed information on the Japanese education system, the history and development of the school teacher training system, and were informed about the experiences in development and implementation of advanced educational methods and new educational programs in the country.

Practical activities of the study tour included visits to preschool facilities and schools in Tokyo Metropolis, where participants could get acquainted with school organization and management, as well as with educational methods and techniques applied in Japan.
